Andrew Grant is a NSW based Director of Photography ( DOP ) with 20+ years of experience. Andrew has a broad range of shooting skills from TVC and high-end branded content to long form documentary and travel work.
Andrew's 20+ years of experience as a cinematographer beliy the fact he is still quite young and energetic, he shot his first series for broadcast at the age of 20. Now in his "adult" life his natural thirst for knowledge and adventure have only become stronger.
With a range of hardware to get the job done Andrew still believes the "Horses for Courses" approach is the most effective way to get the desired results for any brand or production company. Cost, speed/agility and aesthetic are all contributing factors to picking the right kit for the job and although Andrew has his own kits he never forces those onto a shoot. "Every camera body has its own unique look and setup that can excel in different environments, coupled with lens and crew choices the end result from a decision made upstream can have knock on effects all the way down, that can be the difference between a successful shoot and a headache."
Andy is generally regarded as a friendly DOP with an inclusive attitude towards his craft. He can lead large departments or run-and-gun with the best of them.
